These covers were designed as a series. The Whisper is an overall darker cover to emphasize the subject matter of being on the run and trying to hide. The Guardians is the second book that discussed betrayal and innocense so the white background references innocence while the dark silhouettes reference personal betrayal. The Claim completes the series with a gold background to reference the value of life and the struggle of the main character to recognize what's really important.
